Latto started a bidding bะฐttle among her ardent followers on eBay when she put a pair of her “used” underwear up for auction. The bidding wะฐr reached almost $100,000.
The Atlanta rapper’s underwear came under investigation over the weekend after a perceptive Twitter user pointed out that she was wearing the same cheetah print thong in two different pictures. Latto responded, “Oh no, it’s the pะฐnty police,” in response.
The “Big Energy” hitmaker revealed her intentions to “wear a pair today and sell em tomorrow” and went one step further in her reaction on Monday, January 30. She gave her fans a “inside look” at her underwear drawer.
In a video she uploaded to Instagram Stories, she said, “I’ve decided to give you guys an inside look on my pะฐnty drawer in light of my pะฐnty discrepancy yesterday.” She was going through her drawer. “Yesterday, there was a significant disparity that resulted from my Target underwear.” Here’s the cheetah stashโ$5 at Target.
In keeping with her promise, Latto afterwards shared a link to her cheetah print underwear on eBay, where bids could be placed as low as $0.99.
“Latto’s regular cheetah-print underwear,” stated the item’s description. “Applied. as frequently observed on Latto.โ
After over 100 shameless bids from fans, the bidding reached tens of thousands of dollars within hours, reaching a staggering $95,650 at one time.
But it doesn’t seem like Latto will be getting paid five figures for her underwear because eBay took down the auction because it didn’t follow their rules.
In response to a fan who reported the listing, eBay’s Customer Service page, @AskeBay, tweeted, “Used underwear is not allowed on site please report any listings you see in breach of policy.”
Latto has not yet responded to the termination of her auction, but she did make a joke earlier that her underwear โprolly smells like a Frappuccino,โ alluding to Kodak Blackโs less than flattering moniker for her.
Latto’s thong with a cheetah design is by no means the first ridiculous eBay auction featuring an item from a rapper’s personal collection.
