Cardi B Earns a Fast Top 10 Һit with One of Latin Music’s Biggest Superstars
Cardi B has always embraced her Afro-Latina heritage, speaking fluent Spanish and occasionally rapping in the language. She recently showcased her cultural roots once again by teaming up with one of Latin music’s rising stars, Peso Pluma. Together, they have secured a top 10 Һit.
Their collaboration, “Put Em In The Fridge,” debuts at No. 8 on this week’s Latin Digital Song Sales chart. This Billboard chart ranks the best-selling tracks in the U.S. classified as Latin, typically featuring some Spanish lyrics.
While Cardi B is primarily known for her English-language performances, she is no stranger to the Latin Digital Song Sales chart. “Put Em In The Fridge” marks her seventh top 10 Һit on the tally. Beyond the top 10, she has now pushed eight different tracks onto the list.
“Put Em In The Fridge” quickly becomes Cardi’s second top 10 Һit of 2024. Earlier this year, she teamed up with Shakira for “Punteria,” which soared to the top of the chart. That single stands out as one of Cardi’s three chart-toppers, maintaining its position for three weeks.
Peso Pluma has an even more impressive track record on this specific ranking. He now boasts 27 top 10 hits on the Latin Digital Song Sales chart, including six chart-toppers.
The new single is featured on Peso Pluma’s recently released album, Éxodo. The album dropped on Thursday, June 20, giving it just one day to accumulate streams and sales for the Billboard charts. With a full week of tracking, it’s likely that both the album and its tracks—including “Put Em In The Fridge”—will debut on other charts and climb to new heights.
“Put Em In The Fridge” ranks as the third-highest debut on this week’s Latin Digital Song Sales chart. The chart is led by a newcomer, with Karol G’s “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” opening in first place. Additionally, Key-Key and Ozuna’s “Tengo Un Plan” starts its run at No. 5.
