Cardi B Gets a Surprise Ear Piercing During Upscale Jewelry Shopping Spree in LA: ‘I Came Here for One Thing!’

Cardi B was treating herself to some bling in Los Angeles on Monday.

The rapper kept it casual with a short pixie cut, a Harvard sweater, gray biker shorts, and sneakers. Despite her laid-back look, Cardi dazzled in diamond necklaces and matching earrings, flashing her bright white smile at the camera.

The 31-year-old completed her ensemble with black sunglasses and a Hermès Birkin bag while shopping at the Maria Tash jewelry store on Melrose Place.

During her visit to the upscale shop, Cardi surprised her 167 million Instagram followers by getting a new ear piercing. “I came here for one thing,” Cardi teased on her Instagram Story, before panning the camera to her piercer. “And look what Harrison did to me. Got me!” She then showed off her left ear adorned with diamond jewelry and ended the clip with a chuckle.

Cardi’s jewelry store visit came just days after she hinted at plans for a third album, even before releasing her highly anticipated sophomore LP. She posted a video of herself singing along to her collaboration with Peso Pluma, “Put Em in the Fridge,” and asked followers if they would be interested in a Spanish album. With almost 480,000 votes, 79 percent of her followers were on board with the idea. Cardi responded on her Instagram Story, “OK AFTER MY ENGLISH ALBUM.”

However, fans will have to wait for the new music. In May, the mother of two tweeted, “NO album this year I don’t care I’m relaxing this year.. Dropping these features I already committed to and traveling and enjoying my summer.”

Besides updating fans on her music, Cardi also opened up about her relationship with Offset. In a May interview with Rolling Stone, she said, “I think it through. We think it through because we do love each other. It’s not even about love. We’re best friends.” She reflected on the difficulty of leaving a partner who is also a best friend, adding, “How do you stop talking to your best friend?”

The couple’s on-again, off-again relationship saw another separation in 2023, with Cardi confirming their split in December. Despite their ups and downs, Cardi expressed appreciation for their bond, saying, “We’re really both each other’s cheerleader.” She praised Offset for always lifting her up and making her feel like a superstar.

Cardi and Offset, who married in 2017, share daughter Kulture, 5, and son Wave, 2. As she looks to the future, Cardi shared her hopes for a fresh start in 2024. “I wanna start 2024, like, fresh, open,” she admitted. “I don’t know. I’m curious for a new life, for a new beginning. And yeah, I’m excited.”
