Looking back at Chioma and Davido’s troubled love story, they now have a perfect wedding after 6 turbulent years

The entertainment industry’s elite, along with other prominent dignitaries, attended the opulent wedding of Afrobeat artist Davido and his longtime love, Chioma Rowland.

The ceremony, which took place on Tuesday at Harbour Point in Lagos State’s Victoria Island neighborhood, celebrated years of friendship and, unsurprisingly, created a lot of attention on social media.

About two weeks have passed since Davido told the cook he was getting married. The 30 BG boss shared their pre-wedding pictures online on Sunday to create the mood for one of the most eagerly awaited occasions in the country’s entertainment industry.

Davido’s lavish wedding was unsurprisingly nothing more than a meeting of distinguished people from various fields.

At the occasion, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, was photographed with his trademark white robes and beaded crown.

Leaders at the occasion were former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, and Senator Daisy Danjuma of Edo South. Former Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State was also there. Seyi Tinubu, the president’s son, was also present.

TV presenter Ebuka Uchendu served as the compere for the event, which was graced by celebrities like Patroranking, artist Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, and others.

Davido and Chioma had been friends for a number of years. However, the singer’s confirmation of their connection at a public event in October of that year marked the formal start of their 2018 relationship.

The artist has included the chef in a number of music videos, and throughout the years, there have been numerous breakup rumors.

The singer announced their relationship a year later, pictures of their first meeting appeared on social media, and in September of that year, Davido proposed to her in a discreet ceremony. The CоVID-19 pаndemic caused the cancellation of their 2020 wedding, which was originally scheduled to take place.

That same year, reports that Chioma was expecting a child made headlines; however, the story was later refuted. However, they welcomed a child in October, whom they called Ifeanyi.

But just after turning three in November 2022, the child passed away in a house аccident.

Following rumors, the Grammy nominee and Chioma had a set of twins in October 2023. As soon as a video of the parents leaving a hospital with their infants went viral, fans, celebrities, and well-wishers began congratulating the parents.

A few months later, rumors of the singer and chef getting married started to circulate. Years of friendship between Davido and Chioma were cemented when he verified the event a few weeks later.
