Metro Boomin has unfollowed Drake on Instagram, why?
Drake doesn’t seem to have followed Metro Boomin on Instagram after the producer made fun of the rapper for Her Loss’s popularity.
Drake and 21 Sаvаge’s joint album Her Loss has already irked Metro, which feels that the record should be garnering more accolades than Heroes & Villains.
Drake has now deleted Metro from his social media, as shown by the Boominati boss’s removal from his Instagram follower list.
As of this writing, Metro is still following Drake on the platform.
The apparent divide began when Metro Boomin was informed that Heroes & Villains was presently earning more than twice as many daily streams as Her Loss and had gathered more streams in a single year (3.7 billiоn) than any other rap album since 2018.
Metro tweeted in response to the data, criticizing Her Loss’s success: “Yet Her Loss keeps winning rap album of the year over H&V.” Evidence that award shows are not for me and are just about politics.
“To be honest, I don’t care about awards; the real reward and honor is realizing that the music I devote so much of my time to makes people happy in their daily lives.”
On his Instagram Stories, Drake seems to retaliate against Metro by referencing the JAY-Z song “Heart of the City (Ain’t No Love)”: “I’m just trying to do me, dаmn it, little guys. If the record says two million, I’m just trying to move three.”
Given that he is listed as the producer of the album track “More M’s” and has previously created many successes for Drake, including the Future duet “Jumpman” and “Knιfe Talk,” Metro’s concerns about the success of Her Loss seem a little strange.
He has also collaborated on two albums with Atlanta rapper 21 Sаvаge, with whom he maintains a strong friendship.
