In a tweet that she sent out on Thursday afternoon, Nicki Minaj stated that she is retiring to “have my family.”
“I’ve made the decision to have my family and retire. I know you two are content right now. My followers, please continue supporting me and do so till the day I Ԁie. Put [X] in the box because no one is looking me up. With emoticons to close, the post says, “Love you for LIFE.”
Whether the post is a real request for attention, a cry for help, or, as the second phrase implies, a retaliatory action against anonymous detractors, was not immediately apparent.
In terms of family, she announced last month that she and boyfriend Kenneth Petty would tie the knot “in 80 days” on her Queen Radio program.
Minaj has had a difficult year. In April, Variety revealed that she had split from her longtime managers, Gee Roberson and Cortez Bryant. Irving Azoff, a seasoned manager, was reportedly Minaj’s new manager, though it’s unclear if that partnership was ever confirmed.
Despite the success of her 2018 album “Queen,” she had to cancel her co-headlining North American tour with Future in August over production problems; she had previously announced that she would be joining Chris Brown on his fall tour. Additionally, she had to postpone three dates on the European leg of the tour earlier this year.
Additionally, at last fall’s New York Fashion Week, she got into a much-reported argument with Cardi B, in which the younger rapper allegedly attempted to physically аssаult Minaj. Later, Minaj described the event as “mortifying and humiliating.”
Nonetheless, Minaj has been busy making cameo appearances lately; her most recent appearance was in the “Hоt Girl Summer” video, which was released on Tuesday, and stars Megan Thee Stallion.
Variety’s impact on the situation will increase as it progresses.
