Ez Mil reveals how nervous he was going to the secret meeting with Eminem and Dr. Dre and how much they liked his rhythm from the first play
Ez Mil, a debutante on Shady Records, claims that when he first saw Eminem, he almost passed out, but Em’s quips helped ease the strain.
In an interview with Manila radio station RX931, Ez Mil spoke about how anxious he was to meet Eminem and Dr. Dre in secret and how they enjoyed his beat from the first play:
Each of us was keeping our own distance. The “DU4LI7Y” event is who we are. Then all of a sudden, we received a message saying something like, “Hey, we’re having a secret meeting.” We thought, “What?” I had previously composed “Realest”‘s rhythm on my own. I believe it had the first stanza and a hint of a hook. Em and Dre were involved even before we realized it was THEM. And the moment I learned that Em and Dre would be meeting. I was attempting to control myself by pacing the house. Even maintaining secrecy might be difficult. We traveled to Los Angeles. The entire journey was about meeting them. traversing the lobby as well. because Dre was seated in the lobby right there. I was looking through the door when I saw Em inside the studio. My mother and brother went in together. Subsequently, Dre said, “Hey, superstar,” as he stood up, his massive self. What on earth are you discussing?I gave him a handshake. And I almost passed out when I saw Em. Thank heaven, I got to my feet and held tight.Raising his head, he said, “Ezekiel! For the last 20 years, where have you been? Okay, you were only four. Then they discussed how they really screwed up when they heard “Up Down.” After claiming that Em was only passing through the wormhole, they revealed that Paul [Rosenberg, who had just performed a song for him] was the one.
I had already created the track and a few voices, like I said. I played it for them there in the studio. As soon as the music started playing, Dre started bobbing and said, “Yyp, Marshall’s gonna eat that up.” Then, Em was at the back, saying, “Yep, give it to me,” as she raised a hand.
