Cardi B Takes Center Stage at the 2024 Met Gala in a 3000-Meter Dress, Accompanied by an Entourage of 9 Helpers

Cardi B isn’t just a celebrity; she’s a phenomenon. And at her fifth Met Gala appearance, she elevated her status to legendary proportions by donning one of the most mesmerizing and voluminous gowns of the evening. In fact, her ensemble was so attention-grabbing that it closed out the red carpet and marked the grand finale of the soirée. (Except for Zendaya’s second look—a vintage Givenchy haute couture gown from 1996 paired with an Alexander McQueen floral headpiece from 2007).

Joining the ranks of Rihanna and Blake Lively, Cardi B’s dress was more than just a fashion statement; it was a work of art meticulously crafted to adhere to the gala’s theme, ‘The Garden Of Time’, inspired by J. G. Ballard’s 1962 short story of the same nаme. Designed by the Chinese label Windowsen, founder Sensen Lii explained that the gown paid homage to the “fertile, black soil used for planting crops and flowers”.

But the extravagance didn’t stop there. The billowing dress, constructed from 3,000 meters of organza, was so immense that it spanned nearly the entire staircase at the Met and required nine choreographed bodyguards to manage its train.

As for the grand reveаl, Cardi B’s entrance was nothing short of theatrical. Umbrellas shielded her gown as she exited the parkside Mark Hotel, building anticipation for the momentous unveiling.

Yet, it wasn’t just the sheer size of her gown that stole the show. Cardi’s emerald and diamond jewels perfectly complemented her botanical-themed ensemble, while her beauty look, featuring a sharp viridescent wing and matching green-eye contact lens, added an extra layer of allure.

Cardi B’s history of making bold statements at the Met Gala is well-documented, from her custom Thom Browne gown in 2019 to this latest masterpiece. With each appearance, she solidifies her status as a red carpet icon, earning her place in the fashion Hall of Fаme—one step at a time.
