Travis Scott and A$AP Rocky seem very similar, is it possible that either of them ‘copied’ the style?
Do you consider the comparisons to be reliable?
In a teaser for a forthcoming interview on “Drink Champs,” ASAP Rocky said that he thought Travis Scott had stolen his look.
The “Pretty Flacko” rapper, N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN of REVOLT, sat down and spoke about the contrast of the rapper’s appearances, which has been brought up by fans for years.
N.O.R.E. said that Travis Scott “stole his whole style from ASAP Rocky.” Rocky shook his head in agreement and said simply, “Yeah.”
The rappers from Houston and Harlem have almost identical haircuts, as well as comparable bodies and complexions. In a busy space or from a distance, it would be easy to mix up the two.
When Rocky appeared on Hot 97’s “Ebro in the Morning” program in January 2016, he allayed any rumors that the two rappers were at odds.
“Let Shorty rock, you’re hearing it from me,” he said. And let the public choose if he is sincere or a biter. I’m not advocating that everyone should be free to just steal what someone else has going on. That’s not what I’m saying. The whole thing seems so trivial to me.
When Scott and Rocky shared a picture together on social media a few days after the interview on January 20, 2016, fans went crazy.
Even though the two have been compared for years, many fans clapped back when they saw the “Drink Champs” promo, saying that beyond appearances, the two are quite unlike.
“How is Travis Scott stealing the style of ASAP Rocky since Rocky’s look is inspired by Houston, where Travis hails from? One commenter said, “I think Rocky influenced him, but stealing is a huge stretch,” bringing up Scott’s Houston heritage.
“To be honest, Asap Rocky got most of his style from Houston,” remarked a different user. using music that is “trill,” chopped and twisted, etc. Since Travis Scott is a native of Houston, I’m not sure how he “stole” anything.
Some said that the rappers were making them see double: “In my mind, ASAP Rocky and Travis Scott are the same person.”
Some sought a collaboration between the two, while others noticed little to no parallels and believed they were the same individual.
“I wish to collaborate with Travis Scott and ASAP Rocky in the future. amazing collaboration will be AMAZING,” an optimistic admirer said.
