Many fans weren’t prepared for the rappers that Kanye West chose when he revealed his current favorites.
During a visit on Justin Laboy’s podcast, The Download, the controversial rap superstar shared his choices. He also talked about his ongoing dispute with Drake, continued to criticize J. Cole, and gave an explanation for why Lil Durk “broke [his] heart.”
Ye said, “It changes, it switches,” and then Laboy revealed that Kanye had just told him that 21 Sаvаge was currently his favorite rapper.
“And Kodak [Black],” he went on, pausing to consider his response before responding, “We’re working with this new rapper out of Baltimore named [Young] Moose.”
“But I told y’all I don’t even listen to music,” West said. I’m overly focused on making money! I honestly don’t have time to listen to too much music because I am too busy making money.
After over ten years of recording songs, Baltimore, Maryland-native Young Moose is a local celebrity. “Tru Bill,” his most well-known song, has nearly four million views on YouTube.
Drаmа, though, has also marred Moose’s career. The rapper accused numerous police officers of getting arrest warrants improperly, placing crаck cоcaine on him during a 2012 search, and harassing him repeatedly. In 2022, the artist and the city of Baltimore agreed a $300,000 settlement.
Two years later, Moose was taken into custody on charges of attacking a sheriff’s deputy and escaping a traffic stop.
Many people were taken aback when Kanye announced on social media that Moose is one of his current favorite rappers. One person commented, “Kanye shouting out Young Moose is insаne!” This ought to give Baltimore artists a boost in confidence. You never know who might be looking or hearing.
“Moose getting a shout out from Kanye was the most random sҺit ever,” another person commented.
In response to the appreciation, Moose himself posted on Instagram, saying, “This Sh¥t Bigger Than Lyfe! [Emoji with a battery] #Blessed @justinlaboy, Greetings From ¥esus Himself @ye [goat emoji].”
Not just Kodak Black, 21 Sаvаge, and Young Moose are currently in Yeezy’s rotation. The Chicago native listed 4Batz as his current favorite musician back in January.
Ye was also spotted on FaceTime with the musician, who is most renowned for his viral Һit song “act ii: date @ 8,” who was wearing a ski mask.
But 4Batz’s signing to OVO Sound in March was the result of a fierce competition between Drake and Kanye. The debut EP U Made Me a Star by the Dallas native will be released by the label on May 3.
