Offset still struggles to discuss the passing of his Migos bandmate and cousin, Takeoff

Offset still struggles to discuss the passing of his Migos bandmate and cousin, Takeoff. In a recent interview with Variety, he shared that music and art have been helpful outlets for his grief. While he showcased the music they had worked on together before Takeoff’s tragic deаth, Offset admitted that discussing the loss is still incredibly difficult for him.

Opening up about his feelings, Offset expressed how talking about Takeoff and their shared experiences is painful for him. He admitted that he avoids discussing it altogether because it brings him into a negаtive mood that he prefers to avoid. He confessed that some aspects of the situation feel surreal, and he often navigates through his day by convincing himself that it’s not real.

During the interview, Offset played the last song he recorded with Takeoff, showcasing their musical connection. Before his passing, Takeoff had ventured into a musical duo with Quavo, releasing an album together. Quavo’s recent solo release, “Greatness,” pays tribute to Takeoff and hints that the most recent Migos album might have been their last as a group.

Offset’s upcoming solo album, set to release later this summer, will feature collaborations with various artists, including Future, Latto, Chlöe Bailey, and his wife, Cardi B. This album marks his first solo project since his 2019 release, “Father of 4.”
