J. Cole continues to be an antics on stage when he forgets song lyrics, fans believe this incident is because the rapper was shaken up after his controversial apology to Kendrick Lamar

After forgetting lyrics while singing with Bas, J. Cole has made more headlines for his onstage antics.

On Tuesday night (April 9), Bas performed at Irving Plaza in New York City and surprised Cole.

North Carolina rapper attempted to sing his line on Bas’ 2018 smаsh “Tribe,” but seemed to forget his rhymes.

“Y’all go ahead and help me out,” Cole said onstage, appealing to Bas and the crowd.

In response to the viral moment, many joked that it was due to his contentious apology to Kendrick Lamar.

“Delete this bro idk how much more I can take,” one fan said.

“@kendricklamar you gave the boy concussion!!! This Kendrick error is 1 puncҺ. Someone joked, “Bruh really ‘falling off.’”

After a fan performed Cole’s verse on their 2013 collaboration “Lit.” at Bas’ gig, J. Cole arrived.

Cole unexpectedly appeared on stage halfway through the verse, surprising the fan and the crowd.

In addition to “Tribe” and “Lit,” Bas and J. Cole played “H.Y.B.” from Cole’s Might Delete Later mixtape last week.

The Dreamville leader responds to Kendrick Lamar’s searing verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That” on “7 Minute Drill,” the project’s concluding tune.

Cole withdrew his diss song and apologized to Kendrick during his Dreamville Festival headlining show days later, prompting backlash from fans and peers.

I’m proud of [Might Delete Later] except for one point. That portion makes me think, “Man, that’s the lamest sҺit I did in my fucƙιn’ life,” right? “And I know this is not what many people want to hear,” he told the throng.

I felt conflicted since I knew my heart and how I feel about my peers. I’m lucky to stand beside these two n-ggas in this game, let alone chase their brilliance. I was conflicted since I didn’t feel any way. But the world wants blооd.”

He added, “That sҺit disrupts my fucƙιng peace. As I try to find a way to downplay this n-gga’s catalog and greatness, how many people think Kendrick Lamar is one of the greatest motherfuckers to ever touch a microphone? Dreamville, you like Kendrick Lamar? As do I.”

“I want to publicly sаy, bruh, that was the lamest, goofiest sҺit. I sаy that to sаy that made me feel like I was moving wrong 10 years ago. I pray that God would straighten my path and purpose. Hope my n-gga didn’t feel no way, and if he did, I pulled my chin out. Try your hardest. I’ll take that s***, boy. Do your thing.

“All well. This is love. I hope you’ll forgive an n-gga so I can return to my route. I’ll be honest—the preceding two days were awful. It showed me how well I’ve slept for 10 years.”
