SUNY Oswego’s Student Association Programming Board (SAPB) has made an exciting announcement regarding the performer for OzFest 2024. American rapper Kiari Kendrell Cephus, better known as Offset, will take the stage at 6:30 p.m. on the last day of classes for the spring semester.
Offset gained fаme as one-third of the popular group Migos, alongside Quavo and Takeoff. His contributions to albums like “Yung Rich Nation,” “Culture,” and “No Warning,” featuring collaborations with artists like 21 Sаvаge and Metro Boomin, have solidified his place in the music industry.
After the tragic passing of Takeoff in November 2022, Offset ventured into his solo career, releasing his second studio album “Set it Off” in 2023 to critical acclaim. Despite branching out on his own, Offset’s reputation as a talented rapper has only grown stronger.
The news of Offset headlining OzFest has sparked immense excitement among the student body, particularly among his long-time fans.
Nate Morison, a senior accounting student at SUNY Oswego, expressed his anticipation: “When I heard that Offset would be performing at OzFest, I couldn’t believe it. I’ve been following his music since his days with Migos, and I’m thrilled to finally see him live. OzFest is definitely going to be the highlight of the semester for me and my friends. I’ve already secured my tickets, and I can’t wait for the show!”
OzFest is a cherished tradition at SUNY Oswego, organized by the SAPB to bring the student community together before the strеss of final exams sets in. Last year, the event featured Canadian singer-songwriter PartyNextDoor, drawing a large crowd. With Offset’s widespread popularity, even more students are expected to attend this year’s celebration.
The festivities will take place at the Deborah F. Stanley Arena and Convocation Hall in the Marano Campus Center, the hub of activity on campus. OzFest will run from noon to 11:00 p.m., offering a variety of entertainment options for students to enjoy.
