In a video circulating online on March 2, Cardi B clarified the meaning behind her viral lyric, “like a Coach bag, baby this ain’t what you want,” featured in her “Like What (Freestyle)” track. While many speculated that Cardi was throwing shade at Coach bag enthusiasts, she clarified otherwise.

 

During the video, which was shared on Instagram Live, Cardi revealed that it was Cam’ron who influenced her decision to take a jab at Coach bags. She recalled her high school days when she used to wear Coach rain boots but stopped after Cam’ron released his track “Hey Muma” in 2011. In the song, Cam’ron emphasized that New York wоmen don’t sport Coach bags.

“So in 2011, everybody started getting rid of their Coach s**t,” explained Cardi. “So when I was [recording] the song, that’s what I was thinking about.”

Despite the diss, Cardi emphasized that she wasn’t aiming for a display of wealth and was simply channeling authentic New York vibes. She even jokingly mentioned that she planned to purchаse a Coach bag herself the following day, stressing that she meant no offense to anyone.

In addition to her musical endeavors, Cardi updated her fans about her upcoming album in a video posted on her Instagram Story. She expressed her determination not to let anxiety or external opinions affect her creative process and confirmed that her new album would be released this year, urging fans to stay tuned for further announcements.
