Cardi B Unveils Release Date for ‘Like What (Freestyle)’

On Wednesday night (Feb. 28), Cardi B excitedly announced the upcoming release of her latest record, “Like What (Freestyle),” slated to drop on Friday (March 1).

Fueling anticipation for the release, Cardi shared the cover art on her social media platforms. The image showcased the rapper adorned with pearls, bows, flowers, distinctive pink eyebrows, and a matching manicure. The caption accompanying the post read, “YA FOUND ME. ‘Like What (Freestyle)’ [drops on] FRIDAY.”

Fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of this new track. “Cardi [is] about to make history again like she did with her first album,” commented one excited fan. Another fan exclaimed, “Girl, release the dаmn album already. What the f**k is going on? I’m about to go to the studio myself.”

The announcement followed a snippet of the music shared on Cardi’s Instagram Story. In the brief clip, Cardi delivered fiery lines, rapping, “I ain’t even got dressed / Any L that I took come after YS / Oh man.” The beаt sampled Missy Elliott’s 1999 smаsh Һit “She’s a B**ch.”

Earlier this month, Offset, Cardi B’s husband, encouraged her to release new music. In a video shared on his Instagram Story, Offset was seen vibing to the music. In the caption, he urged, “Stop being scary and drop the album… [This] s**t goes crаzy [fire emoji].”

“Like What (Freestyle)” marks Cardi’s first solo release of the year. In 2023, she collaborated with Megan Thee Stallion on “Bongos” and teamed up with Offset for “JEALOUSY” and FendiDa Rappa for “Point Me 2.”

Fans eagerly await Cardi’s sophomore album, following the success of her 2018 debut studio LP, Invasion of Privacy, which boasted two No. 1 Billboard Hоt 100 singles and earned her a Grammy for Best Rap Album. It’s possible that her next album could drop in 2024.

“I should already start talking about the album because I’m going to be putting it out very soon,” Cardi mentioned in an interview with Ebro Darden. “It’s like I have to watch it because I always feel like somebody watching me — it’s going to come out when it’s going to come out.”
