After falling for a comedian’s prank that a mausoleum was being built for the rapper in downtown Toronto, Drake’s supporters are mocking him for requests he never made.
On Wednesday, January 10, comedian Graeme Barrett shared a completely created fake news story in which he portrays the site supervisor overseeing the construction of a pyramid-shaped tomb for Drake’s eventual demise.
According to site supervisor Barrett, “it’s got everything Drake requested for the afterlife, so there’s rooms filled with Patron, there’s room for 21 Sаvаge, and there’s also a fully functional OVO store.”
Barrett said that they had “an old lady curse all the items, so if someone does steаl something for the rest of their life they will be followed home by the owl man” in case the humor wasn’t obvious at that point.
A pirated DVD of Stranger Things is the sole sealed thing in the sarcophagus, he added, making reference to the numerous speculations that have surfaced around Drake’s bond with the show’s star, Millie Bobby Brown.
Fans ridiculed Drake’s absurd afterlife wishes as the video circulated on Twitter and X, apparently oblivious to the fact that the entire exchange was a farce.
“How is Drake alive and has a tomb while he’s not deаd? [upside down happy face] n-ggas simply spend their money on whatever fr,” one fan tweeted. Another implied that Drake was trying to outdo JAY-Z with the prank, stating: “Drake said: Oh he wants to have an exhibit? I will be getting a tomb
Numerous responses began with some variant of “Tomb of Drake? “Brother done lost it,” or “the fact that Drake asked for a room in his Drake Tomb for 21 Savages is…” Some sought to draw attention to the fact that not enough people were discussing the memorial, though.
But Barrett’s previous material was instantly recognized by followers on Instagram, who started making jokes about how “Drake’s the type.”
With over 17.6 billiоn streams, Canadian artist Drake ranked as the most streamed rapper on Spotify in 2023.
Anticipating the upcoming year, Drizzy disclosed intentions to expand his live performance around Europe and other regions.
During a December Kιck stream with Roshtein, he stated, “I think I’m going to tour in Europe,” before expressing greater confidence. “Well, that might be an exclusive. Yes, I will most certainly be touring Europe in the upcoming year. We will undoubtedly embark on a tour in January.
The tour will come after Drake and J. Cole’s series of joint shows, which is scheduled to end in March. Produced by Live Nation, the highly anticipated tour is supported by Cash App and Visa.
