Drake reunites with Travis Scott to perform ‘Meltdown’ in Vancouver
Drake’s It’s All a Blur Tour stop has an unexpected 21 Savage replacement in the form of Utopia rapper.
On Tuesday in Vancouver, Drake and Travis Scott played live together onstage for the first time since the Astroworld tragedy. The song is off their Utopia collaboration, “Meltdown.”
Drake spoke to the crowd at Rogers Arena, “Oh yeah, for the first time ever in Vancouver, Astro and The Boy, we in this bitch”:
Scott was a somewhat unexpected, last-minute stand-in for regular It’s All a Blur Tour co-star 21 Savage, who was unable to participate in the Canadian leg of the tour because of his ongoing immigration issues. Scott was spotted in British Columbia in the days preceding the Vancouver shows, which fueled rumors that he would take 21 Savage’s place for the gigs. (J. Cole filled in for 21 Savage at Drake’s hometown of Toronto earlier.)
Apart from performing “Meltdown,” Scott and Drake also showcased their popular song “Sicko Mode.” Scott also sang his Utopia hits, “I Know?” and “Fe!n,” along with “Goosebumps.”
The rapper’s own Circus Maximus tour, which begins on October 11 in North Carolina and travels to Orlando, Seattle, Dallas, and Los Angeles (but not Houston, the site of the Astroworld catastrophe), was announced only hours before Scott’s attendance.
