Drake is the most injured non-athlete in music and sprained his ankle on vacation.
The 6 God stated he injured his ankle during Sunday’s (December 17) $1million Stake giveaway webcast while poolside in Turks and Caicos.
“I’m sitting down for today’s stream,” Drake stated. “I rolled my ankle yesterday. Keeping things genuine with you. The awful news.”
The ankle injury may have been rolled during a basketball game in Turks, though he didn’t say. Drake tweeted photographs of himself hooping in the SBL Christmas Classic 2023 over the weekend.
Drake was carried about the Turks resort in a golf cart on Sunday while using crutches to support his ankle.
Drake has been injured before. His Certified Lover Boy album was delayed in January 2021 because Drizzy had knee surgery in late 2020, requiring rehab and rehabilitation.
“I was planning to release my album this month but between surgery and rehab, my energy has been dedicated to recovery,” he stated. “I’m blessed to be back on my feet, feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB won’t drop in January.”
He ended on an optimistic note but wouldn’t commit to a release date: “Looking forward to sharing it with you in 2021.”
Drake addressed “non-believers” in the same webcast over the weekend and apparently criticized Metro Boomin for deleting a December tweet criticizing Her Loss.
He added, “To the rest of you — the non-believers, underachievers, tweet and deleters— you guys make me sick to my stomach, fam.” “Look at my eyes—want to do something? That was my thought.”
Drake’s comments follow Metro Boomin’s tweet and deletion of a post criticizing his Her Loss album with 21 Savage.
