Fans are criticizing Kanye West’s latest YEEZY shoe design for resembling socks.
The rapper and fashion designer uploaded a screenshot to X, formerly Twitter, Friday, saying, “YEEZY debuts the foldable future of footwear, YZY POD.”
West launched a $200 presale for travel-friendly sneakers and advised shoppers to “accept no imitations.”
It was West’s first product drop since Adidas fired him in October 2022, but fans were upset by the price.
One commenter said, “YE $200 for a sock is crаzy,” while another asked, “Is it $200 per sock, or do you get a pair?”
“Who is paying [$200] for socks lol,” a third wrote.
A second X user said fans “love” West, who just announced his forthcoming album “Vultures,” for his music, not his “socks.”
While fans debate West’s latest design’s price, former YEEZY lawyer and Sneaker Law professor informed Page Six that West may be selling his sock-styled shoes cheaply.
Kenneth Anand said, “People who are criticizing the price on the Yeezy sock shoes may not understand the high cost of making quality products, especially for independent brands.”
By comparison, Vetements and Balenciaga sell quite similar, if not identical, sock shoes; the Yeezy models are cheaper by $400 or more, so Kanye could have upped his price.”
Prices aside, others noted West, 45,’s unusual sizing selections, which only include sizes 1, 2, and 3 for the “foldable” sneakers.
“What does size 1 2 3 meаn?” Another admirer said, “I was deadass gonna order a pair but I need to know how the sizes work. Break it down, bro.”
West representatives did not respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Adidas severed their deal with the “Gold Digger” rapper in October 2022 after a public feud over his anti-semitic statements.
“Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech,” the firm added. “Your recent comments and actions are unacceptable, hateful, and dangerous, and they viоlate the company’s values of diversity, inclusion, mutual respect, and fairness.”
West was in trouble again this week after performing onstage with a Klu Klux Klаn mask while his 10-year-old daughter watched.
The “Praise God” musician was criticized for a 10-minute antisemitic diatribe in which he raged about Jesus Christ, Һitler, and Trump.
