Michael Jordan refused to attend the event despite being paid up to 100 million USD
David Falk, Michael Jordan’s former representative, said the former player once refused to attend a public event for 2 hours, even though this would bring him a huge amount of money.
American Professional Basketball (NBA) superstar Michael Jordan retired many years ago, but he still has great appeal off the court.
According to CNN, Michael Jordan, the legend who played for the Chicago Bulls team, always seems to find ways to avoid media attention since he retired from basketball nearly two decades ago.
Recently, Michael Jordan’s former agent said that the former player once refused to attend a public event for 2 hours, even though the job could bring him a huge amount of money.
In a conversation on WFAN radio channel “Boomer and Gio”, David Falk shared about his former client’s strictness when choosing projects.
“Three years ago, I offered him a contract worth 100 million USD. All he needed to do, besides lending his name and related issues, was to appear at a event to announce the agreement and attend the event within 2 hours, but he refused,” Falk said, without giving any further details about the agreement.
“God bless Jordan. He is so successful that he has the opportunity to do whatever he wants and can say no to things he doesn’t want to do. I really admire that. He chooses very carefully what he gets involved with.”
Last month, the name Michael Jordan appeared in many headlines after the release of his documentary “The Last Dance“.
This ESPN series premiered on April 19 and will air on Sunday evenings for five consecutive weeks, until May 17.
For Jordan, the Chicago Bulls team of the 1990s remains one of the greatest monuments in sports history. The ESPN series will reveal never-before-seen footage from the 1997-1998 season, along with interviews with famous stars./.
