Michael Porter Jr. contributed 27 points, and 16 points were scored by Reggie Jackson off the bench. Aaron Gordon recorded 15 points and 12 rebounds in addition to his double-double.
The Nuggets were marred by the early departure of Jamal Murray, who reportedly suffered a hamstring injury and was unable to return.
Nikola Vucevic scored 19 points and DeMar DeRozan contributed 17 for the Bulls. Javon Carter contributed sixteen points in the reserves.
At intermission, Chicago held a 53-51 advantage. However, in the third quarter, the Nuggets seized control, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Porter, and Gordon all made immediate contributions. Denver took a 79-61 lead with 4:31 remaining in the third quarter following a run. The Bulls attempted to narrow the deficit to 86-74 as the game entered its fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter, however, the Nuggets seized control, and crucial three-pointers from Porter and Jackson were sufficient to secure the victory.
Jamal Murray is a crucial member of the Nuggets, so his injury will cause considerable concern for the organization. The severity of his injury and the schedule for his return will be monitored attentively.
