Music legend Chance the Rapper has a life that makes everyone wish, happy with his family and huge fortune
Chance and Kirsten bought a five-bedroom, 9,251-square-foot property in north suburban Bannockburn for $2.3 million.
Chance, 28, a rapper, songwriter, and producer from West Chatham on the South Side, has released three mixtapes and one studio album. In 2018, he spent $3.7 million for a three-bedroom, 4,500-square-foot Streeterville apartment.
Chance and his wife acquired a Bannockburn home via an Illinois limited liability corporation after renting a five-bedroom, 6,721-square-foot French Provincial-style estate. They Pᴜгchаsеd a house two blocks north of their rental on Sept. 14, 2021.
Chance and his wife’s 1996 mansion on 3.71 acres has six fireplaces, six bathrooms, a great room with authentic Iowa barn beams, a large center island, a marble baker’s counter, granite countertops, a Thermador range, two ovens, a Sub-Zero refrigerator, two sinks, and two Miele dishwashers.
Alan Berlow of Coldwell Banker, who co-listed the house with Shannon Towson, refused to comment on the Pᴜгchаsеrs. He merely mentioned the house’s “privacy and acreage” as charms.
“Plus, it’s so close to Deerfield, Bannockburn, Riverwoods amenities, as well as Deerfield schools,” Berlow told Elite Street. “Location, acreage, pool, and walkout basement are huge benefits. Beautiful grounds.”
After nine years, the sellers, who spent $2.6 million for the property in 2004, sold it. They advertised the estate in 2012 for $3.29 million, then lowered it to $3.1 million later that year and to slightly around $3 million in 2013 before removing it off the market.
As with his 2018 Streeterville Pᴜгchаsе and current Bannockburn rental, Chance’s mother, Lisa Thompson-Bennett of Crown Heights Realty, handled him. She declined comment.
2020 property taxes for the home were $38,352.
