Get Ready to Ride the Waves on a Shark-Shaped Yacht in 2023!

The semi-customizable yacht is available in shades of grey, black, white, or scarlet

The sight of a dorsal fin slicing through the ocean is typically unwelcome; after all, we saw what happened in Jaws. However, a new shark-shaped yacht from Alpha Custom Yachts allows you to reclaim a portion of this dread by channeling the animal’s most menacing characteristics into an enjoyable activity: boating. According to Robb Report, Alpha’s newest semi-custom yacht, Squalo Trenta, was designed to resemble the silhouette of one of the ocean’s most feared predators. The name of the vessel is a direct reference to her distinctive features: Squalo is the Italian word for shark, and Trenta refers to the yacht’s 30-meter (98-foot) length.

The interior of the vessel is contemporary

In contrast to a yacht shaped like a turtle that debuted in November, the shark-shaped yacht is not an exact representation of the animal. Instead, it embodies the essence of the beast: It is imposing, sleek, powerful, and glides effortlessly through the water. Roberto Curtó Design, an Italian yacht design studio, was responsible for exterior styling, interior design, and arrangement. Massimo Verme was responsible for the naval architecture.

According to the designers, the vessels will have ample space for recreation and leisure

Although the exterior is imposing, the interior is cozy. Three expansive decks house a variety of amusement options, including an outdoor lounge pool, a bar, a wine cooler, and large televisions. Depending on the inclinations of the owner, the vessels can be equipped with either four or five bedrooms, in addition to two crew cabins. Other customization options include exterior color (though grey is the most shark-like, black, scarlet, and white are also available) and engine model. Depending on the latter, the shark has maximum speeds of 15 or 16.5 knots and cruise speeds of 13.5 or 15.5 knots.

Three Squalo Trentas are currently being manufactured and should be completed later this year

Robb Report indicates that three Squalo Trentas are already in production and will be delivered by the end of 2023. Since the concept made ripples (no pun intended) in 2022, when it won the 2022 International Yacht & Aviation Awards’ top award for a concept under 40 meters and was shortlisted for the same competition’s interior design award, the boats have been eagerly anticipated.
